FEIIC Engineers Register
The Council of the Federation of Engineering Institutions of Islamic Countries (FEIIC) at its 32nd FEIIC Council Meeting in Makkah on January 8, 2019, had agreed to the formation of the FEIIC Engineers Register (FER) for qualified Professional Engineers. FER is benchmarked against similar Professional Engineer Registrations at the international level. An engineer applying for registration under FER shall have qualified and obtained a Professional Engineer (PEng) qualification in their respective jurisdictions which is of equivalent professional standard as the FEIIC Makkah Accord or the International Professional Engineers Agreement (IPEA) in the International Engineering Alliance (IEA) or the Euro Engineer of FEANI in Europe.
Objective
The objectives of the FER are to :
- Facilitate the mobility and professional practice at the national and international levels of the FER Professional Engineers within the Makkah Accord Signatory Countries through a framework of mutual recognition of qualifications;
- To safeguard and promote the interests of the FER Professional Engineers;
- To establish a database of the competency profiles of the FER Engineers and facilitate continuous professional development through the setting, monitoring and reviewing of professional standards; and
- To promote cultural, professional and business links among Professional Engineers within the FEIIC member countries.
The minimum requirements for an applicant to be admitted to the FER Register are: -
- Has an engineering degree recognized by the Medinah Accord, Washington Accord or equivalent in his home country;
- Be a registered Professional Engineer in his home country, with an equivalent professional standard as the FEIIC Makkah Accord or the International Professional Engineers Agreement (IPEA) in the International Engineering Alliance (IEA) or the Euro Engineer of FEANI in Europe;
Benefit
Registered FER Professional Engineers shall benefit from registration with FER with the following: -
- May use a post-nominal FPEng after their name, to indicate achievement of the Professional Engineering Status in Islamic Countries.
- Get their name and curriculum vitae published on the FER website.
- A directory of FER Registered Engineers which include his personal and communication details, and competencies shall be made available to funding and development bodies and agencies in Islamic Countries.
- Special registration rates at FEIIC conferences, workshops and seminars for continuing professional development (CPD).
- Receive regular free FEIIC News and publications.
Registration Fee
Registered engineers shall pay life registration fee as follows: -
- USD100 life registration fee
There is no application fee imposed for FER. -

Registration Procedure
The registration process for FER is as follows*: -
Application
Interested candidates shall submit his application for registration in the FER register by submitting the application form as in Appendix A.
The application shall be assessed by not less than two Assessors appointed by the FER Management Committee.
Successful candidates shall be informed of their acceptance in the FER Register and shall be requested to pay the annual or life registration fee, before being listed in the FER Register and be allowed to enjoy all the benefits of FER registration.
