Dr. Mohd Faris Khamidi is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia. He currently leads the Structural, Material and Construction cluster at the faculty. He graduated with a double degree in B.Sc. of Housing, Building and Planning (Hons) and B. Architecture from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 1996 and 1997, respectively. After a 2 year working stint in the construction industry, he then pursued his post-graduate degree and completed his Master of Engineering (majoring in Architecture) degree in 2002 from the Graduate School of Human-Environment Studies at Kyushu University, Japan. He later obtained his Ph.D. in Architectural Engineering from the same institution in 2005. His research interests include Construction Project Management, Sustainable Building and Construction, Green Building Assessment Tool and Green Building Technology for Climate Change Mitigation. He is a member of Malaysian Association of Facilities Management (MAFM) since 2006 and was elected as EXCOM member for 2011-2013 duration. He is also actively involved in the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction (CIB) based in Rotterdam, Holland as a member for Task Group 69: Green Building & the Law and Working Commission W108: Climate Change & the Built Environment. Prior to joining Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, he was the Head of Department of Construction and Real Estate Management at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) from 2005 to 2007. To date, he has more than 80 publications; comprises of papers in indexed journal, cited International Conference proceedings, book and chapters/sections in book, learning modules and article in country report. His paper entitled "From Rating System to Assessment Tool: The Way Forward for Carbon Emission Reduction in the Malaysian Construction Industry," talks about the paradigm shift needed among the Malaysian construction industry stake-holders to enable more sustainable and greener practices. This is crucial in order for Malaysia to meet the 40% carbon emission reduction target by 2020.

Prof. Dr. Toshio Wakabayashi received the BE and ME degrees from Tokai University, in 1968 and 1970, respectively. He received the DE degree from the same university in 1985. In 1970, he joined the Faculty of Engineering, Tokai University, and since then, as a faculty, he has engaged in research in the field of electromagnetic waves, including field in computational electromagnetic fields, microwave circuits and devices. He was a professor of the Department of Communications Engineering and Communication network Engineering, Tokai University from 1988 to 2007, and from 2008 to 2011,respectively. He has been a professor of Department of Electronic System Engineering, Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), Universiti Technologi Malaysia (UTM), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia since October 2011. He is currently involved in research on broadband planar antennas for mobile communications. Dr. Wakabayashi is a member of the IEICE, the ITE (the Institute of Image Information and Television Engineers) and a life member of the IEEE.

Professor Dr. Hamdani Saidi was born in Selangor in 1953. He is married with four children. He completed his secondary education from Sekolah Alam Shah, Kuala Lumpur in 1970 before joining College of Agriculture, Serdang in 1971. Professor Hamdani then continued his tertiary education in Louisiana State University, USA from 1975 to 1980 and received his Bachelor and Master degree in Chemical Engineering. In 1988 he received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from The University of Bradford, United Kingdom. Professor Hamdani started his teaching career as an Assistant Lecturer at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 1977. In 1982 he was appointed The Head of Petroleum Engineering Department, and then The Deputy Dean in 1989. In 1994 he was promoted to Professor and Dean, Faculty of Chemical and Natural Resources Engineering. He led the faculty as Dean until 1997. Professor Hamdani pioneered research and development in membrane technology in Malaysia. In 1990 he established Membrane Research Unit (MRU) and started the development of membranes and their applications in process industry. To day MRU is recognized in the Malaysia and the world as a reference centre attracting significant amounts of research grants (more than RM 18 millions) from government and industry, developing expertise and products, and contributing new knowledge. In further pursuit of knowledge and innovation Professor Hamdani is currently leading and integrating a team of expertise in the development of fuel cell technology, a clean and efficient power generation system for stationary and mobile applications. The program is fully funded by Government under prioritized research project. He also pioneered the development work on the implementation of plasma technology for waste-to-energy conversion in Malaysia. His research findings are widely published in international journals such as Journal of Power Sources, Advanced material, Mathematical Modeling, Journal of Applied Polymer Science, Journal of New Material for Electrochemical Systems and Polymer International. More than 80 papers have been published and presented in national and international conferences. Professor Hamdani contributes his expertise and experience to industry, government and international organizations. He is currently the Chairman of National Committee on Hydrogen, under the Ministry of Energy, Telecom and Multimedia. The committee is responsible in charting the hydrogen road map for Malaysia and to recommend to Government on the action plan for hydrogen economy. He is also a technical consultant to Malaysia Energy Centre (PTM) and involves in the planning and implementation of Energy R&D. At international arena, Professor Hamdani is appointed as a member, The Council of Energy Advisor, Gerson Lehman Group, USA. The council is a leading group of power and energy professionals that provides independent research in the power and energy sector to the investment community by working directly with industry professionals.
